We believe in purposeful engagement in our community to bring about God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. We move from the sanctuary into the community to share God’s love with our neighbors.
Below are some small ways that HBC is responding to God’s call. Where is God calling you?
Enrolling now! Classes meet Tuesdays at 10:00am, beginning September 14 and concluding on December 7. If you want to enroll, or have an interest in assisting in future ELL classes, please contact Pastor Matt.
Each summer, HBC conducts a Backyard Bible Club in the neighborhood. This investment has allowed us to tangibly love our neighbors and led to the expansion of other ministries at HBC. With your help, we can expand our Backyard Bible Clubs into new neighborhoods and at regular intervals throughout the year. It’s a perfect way to live out faith, love thy neighbor, and build community.
The Blessing Box on the edge of HBC’s parking lot helps to fulfill short-term basic needs for those in our community who don’t have regular access to essential items. You can help by donating non-perishable food, hygiene products and other items (contact us to obtain a list of appropriate items), or by assisting with the daily monitoring and restocking of the box.
The Cheese and Beef Ministries are initiatives coordinated through a partnership of HBC and the Rockingham County Co-op to assist local dairy farmers by purchasing milk and meat, and to provide under-resourced families with nutritious food items.

They encourage and provide opportunities to act in environmentally responsible ways in our community, such as picking up trash, recycling and composting. Contact us to find out how you can get involved in this unique ministry!
From 10:00-11:00am each Saturday morning for over twenty-five years, HBC has provided our neighbors a hot meal and a bagged lunch to go.
