Classic Worship

Classic WorshipThe Harrisonburg Baptist Church’s Classic Worship Service is most uniquely identified by its style of music and a more traditional structure.  Led by the ministry team, the organist and our Sanctuary Choir, the worship service encompasses music, prayer, scripture and proclamation, as we enter together into God's presence in a Spirit-led service.  The music selections include both spirited congregational singing as well as musical performances by the Sanctuary Choir or one of our other choirs, soloists, or small vocal or instrumental groups.  We sing the great hymns of the church and occasionally a contemporary praise chorus.

While there are certain common elements in each service of worship, each is individually planned so that every element coordinates with and enhances the central teaching of the service. Essential to every Classic Worship Service is proclamation of God's Word and praise of God.

Although the Classic Service is more formal in style than our Caffeinated Worship Service, it maintains the warmth and fellowship of a community celebration.  If you would like to worship in a more traditional service with others who are seeking to passionately follow Jesus Christ, please join us at 11:10 AM on Sunday mornings for our Classic Worship Service.
