The Music Ministry of Harrisonburg Baptist Church is dedicated to praising God through music and to providing opportunities for individuals of all ages to play and sing praises to God’s glory.
There are many opportunities for both children and adults to participate in the music activities of the church. The experience of praising God through Christian music begins at an early age! The Music Ministry includes children's choirs for 3 yr. olds through the 6th grade, a Sanctuary Choir, a senior adult choir (XYZ Singers), a handbell choir (Jubellation), men and ladies ensembles, and praise teams.
The Sanctuary Choir and Mosaic Praise Team lead in the Mosaic Worship Service and the other choirs perform periodically in the Mosaic Worship Service and during special services and events. The Alive@9 Worship Service is led by the Alive@9 Praise Band. There are also opportunities for musicians to perform as soloists and in small groups in both worship services and in special music performances. In addition to weekly services the Music Ministry offers programs such as the annual Christmas Cantata and Easter presentations.
Whatever your musical talents – singing or playing – we have opportunities in our Music Ministry for you, including the leading of one of children’s choirs. We invite you to come and share in our wonderful ministry of serving our Lord through music. You will find that participation in one of our choirs is also a great opportunity for Christian fellowship.
