MOPS

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a program designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten.  MOPS is dedicated to the message that "mothering matters."  Better moms raise better children and make the world a better place.  MOPS helps mothers find friendship and acceptance, develop mothering skills and promote spiritual growth.  The women are of many ages and backgrounds, but share the same desire - to be the best mothers they can be!

ABOUT HBC MOPS
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from September - May.
We offer a morning meeting time from 9:30 - 11:30 AM
And an evening meeting time from 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Childcare is provided at both meeting times!

A one-time annual membership fee of $24 is collected and sent straight to MOPS International.  Included in your membership fee is the theme book this year, weekly MOPS emails and the bi-monthly MomSense Magazine.  We ask that you pay the $24 after you have visited twice.  Scholarships are available if needed.  Email hbcmops@comcast.net for more information.

MOPS International Theme 2009-2010:
Together on Planet Mom

The MOPS Experience equips women for the joys and challenges of their lives as moms.  One key factor in the MOPS Experience is the relationships built within a group.  Time and time again, MOPS moms share that the friends they make in MOPS are significant for this season of their life and on into the future.  God created us for relationships!  It's one of the defining parts of being human.

During the 2009-2010 MOPS year, we will explore how to survive Together on Planet Mom!

The theme book for 2009-2010 is Life on Planet Mom: A Down to Earth Guide to Your Changing Relationships by Lisa T. Bergren.  (This book is included when you register for MOPS for only $24.)

Becoming a mom effects your relationships with everyone - your spouse, your parents, your friends and even God.  During this time of life, you need to feel nurtured and loved by solid Connections you can trust.  But in the chaos of raising children, cultivating relationships can take a backseat to just getting the kids fed and to school on time.

Author Lisa T. Bergren helps busy moms like you prioritize your relationships with others and offers practical ideas to enhance your six key relationships:  with self, spouse, friends, family of origin, community and God.  With in-depth research, heartfelt personal experience and expert advice, Bergren shows you how to keep vital relationships during the parenting years.

Whether you have just brought home a new baby or you're still trying to find your footing raising young children, you will benefit from the wisdom found in this book.
