On September 8, 2004 at 6:45 PM the Missions Committee will present a program on the Liberian Relief Project. Keith Turner, project coordinator and member of Browntown Baptist Church in the Shenandoah Baptist Association, will share the urgent needs of the people of Liberia. Following his presentation the Missions Committee will offer specific details concerning our church’s participation in this relief effort. We will join other churches and organizations in Virginia and other states in meeting a late October deadline for assistance.
Items needed urgently:
- Rice (lots of rice in 20-, 50-, and 100-lb. bags)
- Canned meat/beef
- Canned fish
- Canned peas/beans (small and medium sized cans)
- Cooking oil
- Sugar
- Powdered baby formula (preferably Enfamil)
- Dry baby cereal
- Medication for pain, headache, fever
- Cloth baby diapers
Additional requested items:
- Children’s clothes (lightweight and in good condition)
- Adult clothes (lightweight and in good condition)
- School day pack kits
- Manual sewing machines
- Computers (Pentium 1 or newer)
